Color Me Beautiful is the first collaborative project between photographers Maria Boucaouris and Leonidas Germanopoulos, who first met in Athens in 2013. It
was on the initiative of Leonidas Germanopoulos,
who wanted to explore the BMX archive photos that Maria Boucaouris had compiled in the 1990s. Their conversations revealed a mutual interest in rural Greek vernacular architecture and provided the impetus for a new body of work on this subject.
